Atlantic Grown Organics is Atlantic Canada’s largest organic greenhouse. We produce tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, peppers and specialty crops year-round in a highly technical greenhouse environment using modern climate control systems, biological pest management, production tracking software and advanced greenhouse technologies.

We are seeking an ambitious greenhouse professional who wants to build a career rather than simply fill a position.

This role is designed for someone who wants to develop into a future Head Grower, Operations Manager, or senior greenhouse leader. You will work directly with the owner and management team while gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of greenhouse production, labour management, crop management, food safety, maintenance coordination, and operational improvement.

Unlike many greenhouse operations where employees become highly specialized, this position provides exposure to the entire operation from seed to shipping.

About Our Operation

Atlantic Grown Organics is a certified organic greenhouse located in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Our operation includes:

• Tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, peppers and specialty crops

As a smaller but highly diversified greenhouse, we offer opportunities that are difficult to find in larger corporate operations. Team members are exposed to crop production, labour management, maintenance, quality systems, planning and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

Working directly with the Owner and Grower, you will gradually assume increasing responsibility in the following areas:

Crop Production

• Monitor crop performance and plant health

• Assist with climate management and irrigation decisions

• Monitor crop balance, growth, yield and quality

• Participate in crop planning and production forecasting

• Assist with pest management using biological and conventional controls

Operations and Labour Management

• Train and supervise greenhouse employees

• Help lead and develop Spanish-speaking production teams

• Use Ridder Productive to monitor labour efficiency and performance

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste

• Assist with production planning and resource allocation

Quality, Food Safety and Compliance

• Support food safety, quality assurance and organic certification programs

• Maintain production records and operational documentation

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements

Maintenance and Problem Solving

• Assist with greenhouse maintenance planning

• Troubleshoot operational issues

• Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance activities

• Participate in greenhouse improvement projects and technology implementation

What We Are Looking For

Required

• Degree or diploma in Agronomy, Horticulture, Protected Agriculture, Greenhouse Production, Agriculture or a related field

• 2+ years of experience in agriculture, greenhouse production or horticulture

• Strong interest in greenhouse crop production

• Strong problem-solving ability

• Excellent organizational skills

• Willingness to take initiative and accept responsibility

• Ability to lead and motivate people

• Valid driver’s licence

Strongly Preferred

• Greenhouse vegetable experience

• Tomato, cucumber, pepper or herb production experience

• Spanish language skills

• Experience supervising employees

• Knowledge of IPM programs

• Familiarity with climate control systems

• Experience with food safety certification programs

• Experience with organic production systems

Compensation

Salary: CAD $40,000 – $60,000 annually (plus housing and vehicle use)
